Ekaterina Blidchenko

Zoologist of the Primorye Regional Public Organization “TIGER Center”, which work is supported by IFAW

Zoologist of Primorskii Regional Non-commercial Organization “The Center for Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of Tigers and Other Rare Animals” (PRNCO Tiger Center). Activities of the Center are supported by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).

Ekaterina was born in Moscow, after finishing school she entered the K.I. Skryabin Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, graduating from two programs (Zoological Engineering and Veterinary Medicine). Her graduate work was written on “Rehabilitation and reintroduction of large mammal predators, case study of wolves (Canis lupus L.)”. In 2007–2011 she worked at the Chisty Les Biological Station in a project studying wolf behavior.

In 2012 Katya has started working at A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution, Russian Academy of Sciences, and moved to the Center for Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of Tigers and Other Rare Animals (PRNCO Tiger Center) in the Primorsky Region.

Since 2016 Ekaterina is a researcher at the Joint Directorate of the State Biosphere Reserve Kedrovaya Pad and Land of the Leopard National Park and PRNCO Tiger Center. She specializes in rehabilitation, reintroduction and behavioral studies of large predators.
