Rosalind Spencer Stone

Hospital Manager and Veterinary Nurse, Mdzananda Animal Clinic

Rosalind grew up in a home full of animals – dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, birds, tortoises and even a few snakes. “We didn’t have animals; we shared our home with them!” she says.

She graduated from Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital in 1978. She went on to explore  micro-nutrition, traditional and alternative healing, and psychotherapy. These were combined in her counselling practice, and she gained bachelors and master’s degrees in Metaphysics (she is currently working on a PhD).

Throughout, she has always being involved in animal welfare to some extent; in private veterinary practices, welfare organisations and through her involvement in animal rights activities. After all these years it has become clear to her that the solution to animal suffering requires a shift in consciousness, both in the individual and the human race as a collective.

After 10 years of growing vegetables and chopping wood at her country retreat, she returned to Cape Town and joined the team at Mdzananda Animal Clinic in June 2015.
