Purpose: 

Primary responsibility is to execute the fundraising and segmentation strategies for IFAW’s worldwide direct mail appeals to active, lapsed and mid level donors.

Successfully manage and execute the segmentation of approximately 225 campaigns per year, to help contribute to the fundraising goal of 20,000,000 gross income.

Responsibilities: 
  • Liaise with Deputy Director and other Fundraising Managers to ensure a clear understanding of campaign and test objectives for individual audiences and appeals.
  • Effectively identify, target and select donors to ensure profitability of mailings.
  • Research and analyze clusters of donors with the greatest propensity for giving using RFM, and other important variables to help achieve campaign fundraising goals.
  • Apply expertise to design and implement new and creative targeting strategies and reports to more easily identify and select profitable donors and ultimately optimize marketing performance.
  • Leverage the fundraising database and increase Lifetime Value through analysis and segmentation strategies that maximize the capabilities of Team Approach software.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Technology and Analytics team to insure ongoing development and improvement of our business intelligence tools.  Work closely with team to insure accuracy of data, recommend enhancements, and participate in de-bugging processes.
  • Prepare post campaign report and analysis on individual audience/cell performance and data trends.
  • Design and implement coding for test strategies ensuring proper cells are identified.  Analyze and report on test results.
  • Recommend and ensure proper database coding and set-up for appeals.
  • Execute segmentation for approximately 225 campaigns a year, determining pack splits for over 400 different packages, in seven countries, under strict deadlines and pressure.
  • Monitor, analyze, and advise on data integrity and reliability ensuring accurate and relevant matrices to execute segmentation.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Development Management team.
Requirements: 
  • 5+ years of in-depth marketing segmentation experience.
  • A BS degree in marketing, information systems, or other related field preferred.
  • A solid understanding of CRM/Fundraising segmentation principles.
  • A very sharp, detail oriented highly organized and self-motivated individual to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines for multi-list mailings for seven countries on a routine basis.
  • Team Approach experience.
  • Extensive excel and pivot table experience.
  • Strong data analyst skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff from administrative staff to directors to achieve results.
  • Effective communication skills.
