“Removed,” a film produced and directed by International Fund for Animal Welfare’s (IFAW www.ifaw.org) Richard Moos, will be featured at the 2012 Eugene International Film Festival which runs from October 18-21 in Eugene, Oregon.

With yearly submissions hailing from around 35 countries, the festival appeals to both filmmakers and movie audiences.  The winning films are selected by a panel comprised of media arts professionals.

On the anniversary of the Zanesville, Ohio wildlife tragedy, one year ago today

Today marks the one-year anniversary of one of the most horrific exotic animal tragedies of all time.

On October 19, 2011, I woke up, fed my dog, and started getting ready to leave for work. I remember hearing the sound of rain on my roof and my pup’s nervous reaction. As usual, my mind raced through the list of tasks I needed to accomplish that day.  

I absent mindedly turned on the tv.

This year for World Rabies Day, the International Fund for Animal Welfare and Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) were proud to partner in order to offer free rabies vaccinations for cats and dogs in conjunction with a free education session in Bali, Indonesia.

We were delighted by the attendance, particularly the number of children who stopped to hear our educational session.

As I mentioned in my last post, children represent up to 70% of rabies casualties.

In september 2012 assisteerde het IFAW bij de redding en transport van een ruim twee meter lange, 297 kilo zware lederschildpad.Het gebeurt niet vaak dat zo'n lederschildpad, een bedreigde diersoort, op een strand in Massachusetts aanspoelt.

Animal Action Week beleeft dit jaar alweer zijn twintigste editie

De Animal Action Week, die op 1 oktober van start is gegaan, heeft dit jaar een extra feestelijk tintje: we vieren alweer de 20e verjaardag van IFAW’s internationale Animal Action Educatieprogramma. Met dit programma bereiken we jaarlijks wereldwijd meer dan 5.000.000 jonge mensen, hun ouders en docenten.
