Delphine Wespiser has always been concerned about animal welfare, but ever since her election as Miss France 2012, she has been determined to use her newly-found fame as a way of advancing a cause she is committed to. Aged only 20, student in international trade, the young Miss has decided to join the ranks of IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare - www.ifaw.org) in order to promote animal welfare and help make the world a better place for animals and people, in France and abroad.

"Along with IFAW, I want to raise awareness on animal suffering, save animals in distress and pave the way for a more harmonious coexistence between humans and animals," she said recently. "In an effort to help IFAW to protect the last remaining elephants of the planet from poaching and ivory trade, I have already joined the Elephant March, an online campaign. I want to raise awareness about this initiative and encourage all those who refuse to see this emblematic animal disappear to join the March" Miss France 2012 continued.

In Reims, IFAW France welcomed the support provided by Miss France 2012 in advertising campaigns and relaying messages in favor of improving the welfare of wild and domestic animals.

"We are very honored to have Miss France 2012 as an ambassador for our cause. She is a dedicated young woman whose blend of compassion, elegance and conviction will give added momentum to our shared vision of a more animal-friendly society. Her support and commitment speak to the trust she places in us, and that goes straight to our hearts" said Céline Sissler-Bienvenu, Director of IFAW for France and Francophone Africa.
