IFAW campaigning for the Universal Declaration for Animal Welfare
It is shocking to consider that even now there is no global, intergovernmental recognition of the importance of animal welfare legislation. IFAW believes this must change, which is why we support the Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW). The adoption of this formal declaration at the UN General Assembly would establish animal welfare on the global political agenda.
The declaration process was originally launched by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) in 2000. IFAW is part of the UDAW steering committee and is collaborating with other animal organisations in support of the Declaration.
The Declaration is an important way for governments to express their commitment to protecting animal welfare and is a vital springboard to changes in international and national policies and animal legislation. It would help strengthen enforcement of animal welfare measures and promote humane treatment of animals in every corner of the world.

all things have been said... it's time to act now!
It is necessary to understand that all animals are living beings that suffer,have feelings,emotions and have the same rights of human beings on the planet.They are an important part of our world and we have a lot of things,simple things,to learn by them.
All living things have the right to co-exist in this planet.
All are the creatures of Allah, if we declare that we love Allah, and then we should love his creation. I will always available to save animals and campaign for it all the time Inshallah.
Since the 1600’s, the use of animals for food and other products has been one of the major causes of extinct or endangered animals.
When humans meet animals, animals always lose. We are destroying habitat and species at a faster rate than a mass extinction event caused by natural forces.Freedom from discomfort;
ALL ANIMALS HAVE THE RIGHT TO:
Freedom from hunger and thirst;
Freedom from fear and distress;
Freedom from pain, injury and disease;
Freedom to express natural behaviour.
BAN HUNTING,CANNED OR OTHERWISE,BAN IVORY,FUR,ANIMAL TESTING!!!
The assumption that animals are without rights and the illusion that our treatment of them has no moral significance is a positively outrageous example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality.
He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.
Enough greed!!!Enough corruption!!!There are so many different sources,its 2012 for goodness sake.
i CANT BARE TO SEE THIS EARTH BLEED ANYMORE,ALL ANIMALS WE HERE BEFORE ANY HUMANS WERE,THANKS TO THEM WE FEED,WE DRESS...SHOW THEM RESPECT COZ WITH OUT WE ALL SUFFER!!!
We have to protect our animals... they are better than humans!!!!!!
They are special... they need only our love!
W have to change this bad world... as soon as possible!!!!
Pamela
we have to protect the animals. They are so innocent and helpless. they need us.
I am against all kinds of killings of innocent animals and birds. The conditions of our mentality are such that the animals will continue to be killed. I am against meat-eating, but it is not going to make a difference. But remember, caring is possible only when we are in a position to take care. Without the facilities and the wherewithal, caring is impossible. We have to be pragmatic; it is no use being sentimental.
