IFAW and Cape Cod: Working Together for Over 30 Years

IFAW has been working since 1969 to protect animals around the globe. Since the early 1970s, IFAW's global headquarters has been based right here on Cape Cod -- once the epicenter of Yankee whaling, and now one of the world's leading whale watching centers -- a true testament to the respect for nature that Cape Codders have.

On Cape Cod, IFAW works to save the last 350 critically endangered North Atlantic Right Whales from extinction. We also support local wildlife rescue efforts, assist with the protection of vanishing wildlife habitat areas, provide free cat collars and tags to Cape Cod cat owners, and carry out marine research and education activities aboard IFAW's unique 72-foot sailing vessel, Song of the Whale.
