Fighting Pet Overpopulation with Mobile Vet Services
Mobile vet services such as dog and cat spay and neuter programs, tackle pet overpopulation and provide pet care and pet education where it’s most desperately needed.
As they bring their dog and cat care services into poor and remote areas, these mobile programs address the root cause of the pet overpopulation problem by offering pet spaying and neutering at a reduced fee. At the same time, they provide much needed companion animal education to local, impoverished communities who may not otherwise have access or financial means to take advantage of such services.
Mobile vet services are an excellent means of combining animal care provisions with responsible and humane education. To read more about IFAW's mobile vet services around the world, click on the links below.
"IFAW's Cora Bailey works with other staff at one of many mobile clinics that bring veterinarian care to the impoverished townships of Johannesburg, South Africa. Funded by IFAW and known as Community Led Animal Welfare the project provides services including inoculations and sterilization free of charge in over 40 communities where traditional veterinary services are unavailable."
