Outcomes of Previous CITES Conference of Parties
At previous CITES CoP’s, IFAW’s international team has concentrated primarily on proposals related to elephants, whales, tigers, bears, sea turtles, freshwater turtles, seahorses and sharks. Other areas that IFAW has campaigned on at previous CITES conventions are tighter enforcement regulations improvement in compliance and enforcement capabilities around the world.
We have come away from the
conference with a mix of victories and partial victories for the world's animals
-- and the realization that much more work awaits us.
