Flora London Marathon 2009
Sunday 26th April 2009

The 2009 Flora London Marathon, held on Sunday 26th April, was a huge success for IFAWt. Our dedicated runners joined thousands of others at the start line to help raise much needed funds for animal welfare.

Running for IFAW were:

Michael Chambers
Terry Highfield
Ian Hunter
Philippa Stevenson
Lyn Tyrrell

Our runners did brilliantly and showed amazing commitment in their training and fundraising efforts and we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to them and to all who sponsored and supported them.

The money raised by the runners will be used to fund many projects including an orphan bear cub sanctuary in Russia, IFAW's Companion Animal Programme which provides desperately needed veterinary services to dogs and cats, as well as vital animal care education to pet owners in some of the world's poorest communities and protecting national parks from poaching and habitat loss.

Fundraising efforts by London Marathon runners will help ensure the continuation of these and many other important projects worldwide. For more information on running the Flora London Marathon on behalf of IFAW please click on the RUN WILD link at the left-hand side of this page.
