IFAW is delighted to announce that we have won top prize at the 2008 Green Awards for two of our campaigns.

Launched in 2006 to critical acclaim, the Green Awards were set up to recognise and reward creative work that communicates the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility, sustainable development and ethical best practice in any sector and across any marketing discipline.

Against fierce competition from leading companies and charities, IFAW's "MP Humpback Whale Adoption" campaign, whereby IFAW "adopted" humpback whales on behalf of various MPs has won the Best Direct Mail Campaign category and the "IFAW on the Underground" poster campaign has won the Best Outdoor Advertising (under 50k) category.

Designed to raise awareness of Green issues, and boost the role of marketing in influencing and informing consumer behaviour, the Awards provide a high-profile platform for companies to showcase their positive commitments to the planet. With support from a range of influential supporting partners including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and an eminent panel of expert judges, the awards showcase how sustainability can be represented through creativity.

2008 Green AwardsTM will take place on 12 November at The Brewery. Iain Patton, Managing Director of Satellite-the green agency founder/producers of the Awards, explains ‘The incredible growth of the Green AwardsTM over the last two years is a clear sign that the communications industry is taking sustainability seriously. The increasing standard of work gives the industry a chance to improve business and the environment at the same time.’
