Get your school or youth group to join in. We have a superb 15-minute film (DVD or video) all about emergency relief for animals. This informative introduction is a great starting point for understanding more about the issues that animals as well as people face in disasters.
The education pack is ideal for young people of all ages, but has been particularly designed to be appropriate for school classes for 11-14 year olds. The special 16-page classroom guide is in colour with pages that can be photocopied for leaners.
IFAW's awards now run in countries all around the world. We are looking for special people who have done something outstanding for animals. Perhaps they have devoted their life to saving animals at a sanctuary or they campaign tirelessly for animal welfare.
We want to recognise the work of these exceptional people, so tell us why you think they should receive this prestigious award by sending us an email.
Action 3. Plastic Bag Pledge
Help combat the threats to marine wildlife in your own home. Refuse, Reduce, Recycle and Reuse - don’t be part of the plastic plague that threatens oceans and the animals beneath the waves. Also take energy conservation action at home to help in the fight against global warming. Send us up to 150 words saying what you are doing to help at home and we will send you a gift from IFAW.
Plastic Bag Pledge - Involve family, friends and others in our Plastic Bag Pledge.
Join our big campaign to clean up plastic and other rubbish that threatens the future of the oceans and marine wildlife. Plastic accounts for nearly 90% of the waste in the oceans of the world. Get your school, group, family or friends to join our global Pick Up Plastic! Protect Marine Wildlife campaign by organizing a plastic rubbish collection of a beach, river, lake, park or other area. Remember much of the plastic rubbish on the streets reaches the sea.
Send us your completed data collection form and a photo of your clean-up operation. See thePick Up Plastic! Protect Marine Wildlife Guide for step by step advice on organising your clean up operation.

Action 5. Join the Community - Spread the Word
Take a photo of you or your group participating in the Pick Up Plastic! Protect Marine Wildlife campaign and then upload it to the IFAW website to share with others.
Design an artwork made from plastic waste. It could
be a picture, a model or a sculpture and write a slogan
to go with it. We want you to make something
beautiful and creative, from something destructive
and ugly - plastic waste. The best entries will receive
a limited edition print from renowned cetacean artist
Noel Ashton. A selection of the winning entries
will go on display to help build awarness of plastic
pollution.
