Whales face more threats today than ever before.
Despite an international ban in 1986, countries like Japan and Iceland are killing endangered whales whales every year. The world’s oceans are also crowded with fishing gear and large ships. Whale’s calls are drowned out by the constant sound of ships’ engines, underwater construction and oil exploration. And, scientists are still uncovering the many ways that climate change could affects whales, and us all.
