Kidepo National Park is located in northeastern Uganda at its border with Sudan. The location of the Park in relation to the international boundaries of Kenya and Sudan, in an area with a hostile community and a lack of communication facilities, makes law enforcement work difficult.
IFAW has assisted the Park for several years by providing much-needed funding
to maintain the Park's road system and to build the capacity of Park security
teams. IFAW has also helped with the establishment of security surveillance
posts and the procurement of camping and field equipment. In 2001, an additional
grant of US $60,000 was provided to support this ongoing effort.
