Congratulations to Sylvia and the Youth Environmental Activism Team (YEAT) of Albert Campbell College Institute who raised over $400 for IFAW through selling stickers, pins, t-shirts and raffle tickets. Her team also held a tabling event informing hundreds of students and teachers about why the Canadian commercial seal hunt is unacceptable and does not belong in the 21st century. YEAT is currently planning future awareness-raising campaigns about animal welfare. Thank you YEAT for all your hard work and compassion for the animals!
Thank You Nicole Mikulis and Hailey
Snell
Thank you to Nicole Mikulis and Hailey Snell of Oakville,
Ontario who donated $550 of their own hard-earned money to IFAW. We appreciate
the dedication of these young women, who feel particularly moved by the plight
of tigers. Great work! Thank you so much!
Lush Cosmetics
LUSH cosmetics has selected IFAW to be part of the 'Charity Pot' program.
Every penny from the charity pot 'Luscious Hand and Body Lotion' marked with the
IFAW logo will be donated to IFAW (excluding government taxes).
We thank LUSH for their generosity.
Earth Day
IFAW supporter Kim Challis
featured IFAW literature at an Earth Day event sponsored by the Environment
Committee of the CAW Local 1520, St. Thomas Ford Plant in St Thomas, Ontario.
This is Kim's second year being involved. Thank you,
Kim!
Teachers' Events
IFAW supporter Atoosa Roshan featured IFAW material at an event, including
our Animal Action Week teachers' pack. The event was a workshop for members of
the Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) at Dr. Marion Hilliard Sr. Public
School in Toronto, Ontario. The day was focused on animal issues and global
warming. Atoosa's school has a student club called "Animal Lovers' Club" and
they share an amazing animal fact every morning during school announcements.
Thanks for getting children involved in humane education Atoosa!
