Put a Stop to Whaling
The soulful, timeless grace and presence of whales represent the very mystery of nature itself. Japan uses a loophole to kill whales with explosive harpoons under the guise of "scientific research" while selling the whale meat. Learn how you can save whales from such a cruel end.

At Risk: The World's Forum for Whales
Most people think we saved the whales in 1986 with the worldwide whaling ban. However, more than 30,000 whales have been killed since the ban, many of these because so-called "scientific whaling" is allowed under an international loophole.

Protecting Whales and their habitats
We saved Baja California's Gray whale nursery from destruction. And now we're fighting to save humpback whales, harbor porpoises, Right whales, Western Pacific gray whales, endangered species in the Caribbean and other whales worldwide.

Promoting Responsible Whale Watching
From Iceland to the South Pacific, IFAW is helping whale watching of such magnificent creatures as the humpback whale emerge as a major force in global eco-tourism and an alternative to whaling.
