The Australian Government has released its public consultation of the revision of the National Whale Watching Guidelines in Australia.
The original guidelines were published in February 2000. The purpose of the current consultation is to improve and update the guidelines in order to bring them into line with the growing whale and dolphin watching industry in Australia. IFAW research indicates that the industry continues to grow rapidly in many parts of Australia and such growth needs to be managed and regulated appropriately.
