Helping Dogs and Cats

IFAW Asia-Pacific fund and support a range of programs aimed at improving the lives of companion animals throughout the region.

Through Indonesian Animal Welfare (InAW), IFAW operates a Mobile Veterinary Clinic in Bali, providing spay/neuter programs to control populations and offers animal healthcare and education to local people.

In the Pacific Island region, IFAW has provided grants to the Animal Protection Society Samoa (APS) for equipment and provides ongoing organisational support to vets and staff. The region suffers from a chronic shortage of vets and vet training facilities and IFAW has taken the lead in creating a taskforce in cooperation with the Commonwealth Veterinary Association (CVA) and Australian Veterinary Association and Pacific Island organisations.

In the Northern Territory Australia, Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities (AMRRIC) and IFAW have created a veterinary guide for conducting dog health programs in Indigenous communities.
