Help Protect Dogs in China
A massive cull in the Chinese city of Hanzhong has claimed the lives of more than 30,000 dogs - and we need your help to make sure that it never happens again.
The local government ordered the mass slaughter of all dogs as the result of
a few cases of rabies deaths. It is proven that rabies can be effectively
controlled by a well-managed vaccination program.
We need your help to contact the Chinese Ambassador in your country and
to encourage China to pass legislation that protects all animals, including
companion animals.
Emergency Elephant Move in Malawi

IFAW is partnering with the
government of Malawi in an
epic rescue effort to move elephants from fierce human-elephant conflict in
the Phirilongwe area, just south of Lake
Malawi.
We are
moving the whole herd to Majete Wildlife Reserve, a
protected park 250 km away.
In this picture, one of the tranquilized elephants is winched aboard a recovery vehicle.

VICTORY! eBay Announces Global Ban on Ivory
IFAW applauds eBay’s decision to institute a global ban on the sale of elephant ivory products by 1 January 2009 and calls on all other internet traders to follow their example.
Announced just hours before the release of IFAW’s latest investigative report - "Killing with Keystrokes" - showing Internet trade in wildlife poses a significant and immediate threat to the survival of elephants, this decision is a very important step to help protect them. eBay has set the standard for protecting elephants, now governments and other online dealers need to follow their example.
