Ivory kingpin sentenced to 20 years

Feisal Ali Mohamed was convicted today in a court in Mombasa, Kenya for possession of over two tonnes of ivory seized during a 2014 law enforcement raid on the Kenyan coast.

He was sentenced to 20 years and ordered to pay a KS 20 million fine. Feisal had been listed by Interpol as one of the nine most wanted suspects for crimes against the environment.

В Армени прошел международный семинар по подготовке к конференции СИТЕС, организованный при участии IFAW

С 24 августа по 26 августа Министерство охраны природы Армении приняло участников национальных комитетов СИТЕС из 16 стран СНГ и Восточной Европы. 25 человек приехали в Ереван (Армения) для подготовки к Коференции СИТЕС. Семинар был организован Министерством в партнерстве с Международным Фондом защиты животных IFAW, Фондом защиты дикой природы и культурных ценностей (FPWC), Благотворительным фондом Pew (США).
