Under Delaware law, big cats may be possessed with a permit. It is lawful to import, possess, or exhibit any live wild mammal, such as a big cat or hybrid, with a permit. The permit requires a twenty-five dollar fee, proof of adequate enclosures as specified by the Department of Agriculture, copies of both an emergency evacuation plan and animal attack protocol, and consent to an inspection of the facility and the big cat. Only accredited zoos may breed big cats.
