Fortunately, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) has a gift giving program called Gift for Animals that eliminates all that unpleasantness and offers an opportunity to help animals around the world.

Go to animalgift.org and pick a campaign you would like to support and the dollar amount of your gift.

A report released today by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), Ocean Noise: Turn it down, showed that, in recent decades, ocean noise created by human activities has risen dramatically, posing a major threat to many marine mammals. Noise from commercial shipping, sonar, seismic exploration by the oil and gas industry, off-shore construction and recreational activities, is contributing to a progressively more disorientating environment for the world's cetaceans.

The rise of the Internet is contributing to the rapid growth of illegal trade in wildlife, which is having a devastating effect on animals and ecosystems. Fast, convenient and anonymous, trading of wildlife on the Internet is posing a major challenge to wildlife conservation and law enforcement.

According to a recently published report by IFAW, Killing with Keystrokes: An Investigation of the Illegal Wildlife Trade on the World Wide Web, Internet trade in wildlife poses a significant and immediate threat to the survival of many endangered species.
