I Found A Way to save a life

Safari hard at workI have always been passionate about animals and have always wanted to find a career where I could help them. After completing my degree I started out as an animal nutritionist specialising in cat and dog nutrition. I was fortunate enough to be able to work closely with both vets and the general public to help provide information on the appropriate diets for their pets with medical conditions.

After spending about two years as a nutritionist and speaking with owners who positively loved their pets, I began wondering about those who didn’t have anyone to speak up for them and to just love them….  It was at this point that I knew I had to find an organisation to work for who was committed to providing a voice for these animals

It was from the work that IFAW was doing with companion animals and seeing when a rescued animal is given a second chance and finds a loving home that I knew I had to open my heart and home to a rescue pup.

A few weeks later along came Safari, an adorable Staff X. When I first saw the photo of Safari and looked into her big beautiful eyes I knew that she was destined to be part of my family.

She has now been my baby for just over a year and I have loved every minute of it. She is intelligent, playful, loving but downright cheeky...she is a frequent visitor to the Sydney office and in her own  unique way helps us all with our daily work.

I found a way to save a life and give a beautiful dog a new loving home.

There are many cats, dogs and small animals who are in need of a loving home, if you are considering welcoming a new addition into your family please consider saving a life by rescuing one of the many thousands who need a good home.
