Wolven in Alaska gered

Het sneeuwt hier, in Alaska. Het is een rustige ochtend als we bij Wolf Dog USA arriveren, een particuliere wolvenkennel op ongeveer een uur rijden van Anchorage. Achterin het gebouw zitten 29 wolven en wolfshonden die voor 1 januari moeten worden gered, anders worden ze afgemaakt. We horen geen geblaf. Wolven blaffen niet om te waarschuwen of om aandacht te krijgen, zoals honden.

Delphine Wespiser has always been concerned about animal welfare, but ever since her election as Miss France 2012, she has been determined to use her newly-found fame as a way of advancing a cause she is committed to. Aged only 20, student in international trade, the young Miss has decided to join the ranks of IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare - www.ifaw.org) in order to promote animal welfare and help make the world a better place for animals and people, in France and abroad.

Dolphin strandings continue, but here are 21 reasons for hope

It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the scale of the tragedy currently unfolding in the cold, muddy marshes of Cape Cod.

In just the last 12 days, at least 85 (and probably over 100) dolphins have stranded on our shores.  They've come in waves as large as sixty at one time, and as small as a single lonely animal struggling to survive long enough for us to carry it to clear water.
