Je bent gek op wildlife, je bent veel op safari geweest en je grootste wens is om de tijger in zijn natuurlijke leefomgeving te zien. Een jaar later bereid je je voor om een afstand af te gaan leggen van maar liefst 100.000 kilometer, om alle landen waar de tijger leeft of ooit heeft geleefd te doorkruisen en om zoveel mogelijk aandacht te vragen voor het lot van de ernstig bedreigde tijger.

国際動物福祉基金(IFAWwww.ifaw.org)は、絶滅が危惧されているナガスクジラの残酷な猟をアイスランドで再開するという決断を非難しました。

近年アイスランド海域でナガスクジラ280頭*の捕殺に関与したアイスランド唯一の捕鯨業者、クリスチャン・ロフソンが、この2年間中止していたナガスクジラ猟を近々再開する予定だとアイスランドのマスコミは伝えています。

2011年と2012年の猟を取りやめた理由についてロフソンは以前、津波の悲劇に襲われた日本との鯨肉の取引が難航したことを挙げています。

IFAWは長年アイスランドのホエールウォッチング業者と共に、残酷な捕鯨に代わる人道的で採算のとれる産業としてホエールウォッチングを促進してきました。

IFAW英国事務所長、ロビー・マースランドはこう話します。「絶滅の危機にあるクジラが再びアイスランドで残酷に、不必要に殺されることになると聞き、大変悲しく残念な思いです。IFAWが委託を受けて行った調査では、捕鯨は非経済的であり、責任あるホエールウォッチングのほうがクジラと沿岸地域にとって良いことが明らかにされました。」
