被“拐卖”的幼鸟康复回家——IFAW北京猛禽救助中心放飞十只康复猛禽

        今天,国际爱护动物基金会北京猛禽救助中心(International Fund for Animal Welfare Beijing Raptor Rescue Center,简称IFAW BRRC,www.brr.org.cn )在稻香湖天然公园和北京鹫峰国家森林公园放归了6只红隼和4只雀鹰。

        2013年6月25日,救助人杨先生抬着一个大纸箱来到猛禽救助中心,打开箱子,里面装着11只猛禽。据杨先生说,在山东的一个高速公路边上,他看到有人贩卖这些猛禽,担心鸟会受伤,情急之下就购买回来送至猛禽救助中心。康复师戴畅说:“这11只小鸟全部是雀鹰的雏幼鸟,有的已经长出正羽,也有刚刚出壳不久的,浑身全部是白色的小绒毛。然而,让我们遗憾和痛心的是,由于人为捕捉、贩卖所带来的巨大伤害,使得其中7只雀鹰的身体极度虚弱,在来到中心的当晚或第二天就死亡了。经过我们的努力和精心照料,另外4只年龄偏小的雀鹰终于脱离了危险,在近一个月的康复治疗后,牠们终于达到放飞标准,可以回归野外了。”

        今天,国际爱护动物基金会北京猛禽救助中心(International Fund for Animal Welfare Beijing Raptor Rescue Center,简称IFAW BRRC,www.brrc.org.cn )在十三陵水库放归了6只红隼。

        这6只红隼在来到中心时,都是幼鸟,均是因为初飞不利或者坠巢被救助回中心的。其中一只红隼,是救助人亲眼看着从巢中跌落下来的。由于特别担心牠们会受伤,所以这些救助人都选择在第一时间联系了北京猛禽救助中心,寻求帮助。

大象的希望——中国人认清象牙血腥真相,拒绝购买象牙

        国际爱护动物基金会 (International Fund for Animal Welfare,简称IFAW,www.ifaw.org.cn) 为减少中国象牙需求开展广告宣传活动,最近对广告宣传所进行的评估显示,宣传产生了很好的效果,68%的受访者明确地表示,他们绝对不会购买象牙。

        根据IFAW的一项调查,70%的中国人并不知道获得象牙需要杀死大象。在中国,象牙(elephant ivory)被称为“象牙”(大象的牙齿)。不幸的是,正是这种叫法,让人们误以为象牙像人类的牙齿一样,能够自然脱落。

        “正是这一惊人的发现让我们在三年前发起了“妈妈,我长牙了”公益广告宣传活动,”IFAW亚洲区总代表葛芮(Grace Ge Gabriel)说,“这个广告向受众阐述了每一件象牙制品都是通过杀死大象获得的事实,同时,鼓励消费者拒绝购买象牙。”
