Drei junge Amurtiger wurden heute nach erfolgreicher Rehabilitation im Osten Russlands ausgewildert. Noch nie zuvor wurden gleichzeitig drei der bedrohten Tiere in die Freiheit entlassen. Die heikle Operation führt der IFAW (Internationaler Tierschutz-Fonds) mit verschiedenen russischen Organisationen und Institutionen durch. Präsident Putin, der das Amurtiger-Rehabilitationsprojekt in Sibirien unterstützt, war bei der Auswilderung anwesend.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) today launched Click to Delete, a report that exposes the widespread sale of endangered animal products on Australia’s most popular online trading platforms.

“We found a whopping 266 per cent increase in the number of advertisements for endangered wildlife since we conducted comparable research in 2008.” commented Ms Isabel McCrea, IFAW Regional Director, Australia.

Seit letzter Woche ist der Balkan von den schwersten Regenfällen seit Beginn der Wetteraufzeichnungen getroffen. Verheerende Fluten vor allem in Serbien und Bosnien-Herzegowina sind seit dem Wochenende die Folge. Zehntausende Menschen sind evakuiert worden, es gibt Tote und Tausende Tiere sind in den Wassermassen umgekommen.
