Le massacre des éléphants pour leur ivoire n'a toujours pas cessé cette année : avec l’annonce hier de saisies au Kenya et au Cambodge, plus de 21.5 tonnes d'ivoire illégal, 949 défenses d'éléphants et plus de 3000 objets auraient été saisis en 2016, avec 16 saisies importantes de plus de 500 kg.
