In Johannesburg we have been delivering free veterinary treatment and pet care to 37 impoverished townships since 1992. Our mobile clinics are a lifeline for any animal stricken by disease or malnutrition. Every single day, people line up by the hundreds in debris-strewn fields or on street corners, carrying their pets in blankets, cardboard boxes and pushcarts. We treat animals for common conditions like mange, distemper and parasites, and give owners practical advice to help them do all they can for their pets.
