Spotlight Cape Cod: marine mammal rescue team members take time to reflect and prepare
We are thankful that so far this year, we have had a relatively quiet season (did I just really say that? Stranding responders are notoriously superstitious-we never use the “Q” word - hoping I didn’t just jinx us!), which has enabled us some time to analyze our vast data set from last year, update protocols and also very important to us—share information with the public.
We are so truly appreciative of the volunteers and the people of Cape Cod who support our work and we get a lot of questions from people about what exactly we do and why.
Recently, I was interviewed on Cape Cod Public Radio about the record-breaking strandings of last year, and the development of our response and prevention techniques.
WCAI has allowed us to share the audio of the interview. I hope this helps answer a lot of the questions that we commonly get from people about our work.
We could not do this alone and we are grateful for all the people who support us and show interest in saving marine mammals on Cape Cod.
