IFAW campaigning for the Universal Declaration for Animal Welfare
It is shocking to consider that even now there is no global, intergovernmental recognition of the importance of animal welfare legislation. IFAW believes this must change, which is why we support the Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW). The adoption of this formal declaration at the UN General Assembly would establish animal welfare on the global political agenda.
The declaration process was originally launched by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) in 2000. IFAW is part of the UDAW steering committee and is collaborating with other animal organisations in support of the Declaration.
The Declaration is an important way for governments to express their commitment to protecting animal welfare and is a vital springboard to changes in international and national policies and animal legislation. It would help strengthen enforcement of animal welfare measures and promote humane treatment of animals in every corner of the world.

It is a very sad state of the world when we need documents to protect animals. Are humans not meant to be civilized and the intelligent of species? The only thing animals need protection from is from the monsters like the animal abusers. Animals are defenseless and their unconditional, unwavering love is their biggest weakness and these monsters know that. We need to stop these people and if the governments could only stop long enough to realise that the enemies they need to fight are right under their noses, these animal abusers and not each other, animals would be better taken care of.
We were created to be guardians of nature and the earth. It breaks my heart to see time and time again how cruel people can be. Often I have landed in hot water. Because I defended an animal. I will keep on doing that up untill the day I die. Animals have the capacity to show unconditional love, something we as humans still needs to learn.
Hello my name is Lekena Bereng a resident of Lesotho and I have a great love for the animals especially the pets.Unfortunately there are no Pets welfare in my area.I have registered the first Pets welfare Association, registered under No2012/269,under Societies Register Maseru. At moment i am doing my course Animal Telepathic Communication Level 1 at Animal Healing Centre Gauteng.my aim is to transform people's mind towards the welfare of the animal.Unfortunately i have no affiliation with any animal welfare and i am looking for animal welfare to be affilated. Thanks Lekena +26659036909
Perhaps it sounds negative but who in the world still has confident in the government(s).
