Katya was born in Moscow, after finishing primary school she entered the Zoological Engineering program at the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology.
Katya then took an assignment at the Chisty Les Biological Station study wolves. Her graduate work was written on “Rehabilitation, feeding and growing habits of individual in early stages of ontogenesis of the wild animals, by the example of the wolf (Canis lupus L.)”. After graduation Katya entered the veterinary medical faculty there.
Since 2012 Katya has worked for A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution, Russian Academy of Science, in their Russian rare animals study project.
Her permanent place of work is the Primorsky Krai, Center for Rare Animal Rehabilitation in the Center's orphaned tiger cubs rehabilitation program.
